Our parish choir began in November 1998 and sang at Mass for the first time at our Christmas Midnight Mass that year. Since then it has gone from strength to strength and continues singing at Mass every Sunday at 10.00 a.m in St Jospehp's, Shirebrook.
The aim of the choir is to lead the singing during Mass using the best of both traditional and modern Church music. The intention is to enrich the worship and meaning of the Liturgy and to lift the spirit of the gathering. Choir members seem to find this a happy and fulfilling experience, both in fellowship and being able to use their musical gifts joyfully and prayerfully to praise God.
The choir meets most for rehersals Mondays (except Bank Holidays) at 7.30 p.m, at St Joseph's Church meeting room.
