Parish Pastoral Council

The Parish had it's first Pastoral Council meeting in May 2005 and since Fr Jonathan arrived at the parish it has undergone a big change.

The PPC has responsibility, in co-operation with the Parish Priest, for the pastoral care of  the worshipping communities of St. Joseph’s, Shirebrook, St. Bernadette’s, Bolsover and St Teresa's, Warsop. The council is involved in the decision-making process for the parish as an advisory body.

The PPC members are available to receive the ideas, inquiries and concerns of the parishioners. Members are drawn from among active participants in the liturgical and community life of the parish, with regard to diversity of talent and skills, interests and age groups.

With the guidance and encouragement of Fr Jonathan, the PPC is now formed of four groups concentrating on the themes of Welcome, Worship, Word and Witness. These four "schools" each have a series of subjects on which they will be concentrating their efforts and a Parish Pastoral Plan will soon be available on this site for you to see.
